Coffee may increase your energy levels

According to paper in the 2000s as well as to the experience of any coffee lover, coffee may help you to feel less tired and maintain high energy levels throughout the day. This effect mainly comes from coffee containing large amounts of caffeine. Caffeine is a stimulant that is also one of the most commonly used psychoactive substances in the entire world.

When you drink coffee, this stimulant through your bloodstream travels directly to your brain. Here it blocks a neurotransmitter called adenosine. Adenosine is responsible for you feeling tired, so by blocking it with caffeine, you feel more alert and energized.

The drink is good for the physical shape too

Also, it has been discovered caffeine may improve your metabolism by up to 11% which adds up to the effect. It increases the metabolism of body fat making it into fuel that your body can use. This is generally a good thing as over one-third of the residents of the United States of America have been reported to have difficulty maintaining healthy body weight.

It was observed that adrenaline secretion was also increased dramatically after the consumption of coffee. These effects may boost your general physical performance, so a cup of coffee could quite literally wake you up in the morning.

Drinking coffee every day may protect your heart against stroke

This is quite a controversial topic, as past studies have shown that caffeine increases blood pressure. However, this increase is so minuscule that it is virtually non-existent. Keeping that in mind, we can see that there is no proof that caffeine induces heart strokes. On the contrary, there have been a few studies showing that drinking coffee every day reduced the risk of stroke by about 20%.

Coffee makes you happy
